CITAZIONEIt's pretty universally acknowledged that fandom only grows more passionate when a favorite TV show is canceled before its time. So it is with fans of "The Borgias," which was canceled after its third season. Without a proper planned finale to bring the series to a close, many "Borgias" fans were deeply disappointed. While "Borgias" fans may still be reeling from the loss of their favorite period drama, a brand new series may be just the thing to distract them. Here are four very good reasons that fans of "The Borgias" should be watching NBC's new show "Dracula."
1. A shared composer
As it happens, the music for "Dracula" was composed by Trevor Morris, who also composed the music for "The Borgias." Morris was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for "The Borgias," and previously won an Emmy in 2007 for his work on "The Tudors." Morris is great at composing period drama scores, and his darkly musical sensibilities are likely to appeal to TV fans who adored "The Borgias."
2. Both shows are all about vengeance
Dracula and Cesare Borgia are characters who are both obsessed with exacting vengeance against those who have wronged them in the past. You could certainly make the argument that the "boss-hitman" relationship between Cesare and Micheletto is paralleled in the relationship between Dracula and Renfield. For period-drama fans who love a bit of violence, this makes "Dracula" very compelling viewing. Revenge is always a legit reason for fans to tune in to a show week after week.
3. Great eye candy
TV fans can squabble about whether Dracula or Cesare is more handsome, but both characters have a brooding, intimidating sensuality. Add in tons of lavish period costumes and amazing sets, and "Dracula" is just as easy on the eyes as "The Borgias" was. "Dracula" is definitely a sexy show, though it is not likely to feature the sort of nude scenes that "The Borgias" became known for. For TV fans who love a show that is visually stimulating, it is hard to ignore "Dracula."
4. Interesting casting decisions
One aspect that made "The Borgias" resonate with fans was how the show was cast. "The Borgias" had no problem casting relatively unknown actors in major roles, and "Dracula" has likewise cast many actors who are better known for theater work than film or television. It's an encouraging TV trend, and hopefully "Dracula" will get a chance to tell its story with a proper finale send-off when the time comes.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Rhys Meyers e Katie unknowns?!
