CITAZIONE this book is written in the third person which is also something I found a bit strange at first because I am used to reading her stories as long, beautifully written internal monologues, but I got used to the 3rd person narration very quickly since her choice of words fascinates me completely HER GIULIA IS DELIGHTFUL; I really love the way Dunant’s written her and I’m looking forward to reading more about her character as the novel progresses Cesare: she’s got him spot-on! It’s the Cesare Sarah Bradford wrote about, it’s il Valentino in the making and it does remind me of Showtime’s Cesare, definitely; it’s a great mix, so yeah, a+ on that front oh and I can’t resist not mentioning Cesare/Lucrezia; she does not ignore the love they have for each other, and yet she writes them with such wonderful subtlety and tenderness it makes my heart ache when I think about the fact that the book ends with Lucrezia’s leaving for Ferrara renaissancemadonna on tumblr
