Il network americano Netflix ha rifiutato di lasciare ulteriori commenti ufficiali sullo show, ma sembra che la protagonista avrà il volto di Helen Mirren, mentre la produzione sarà affidata a Peter Morgan, Stephen Daldry ed Andy Harries e visto i recenti successi del network americano Netflix, ci aspettiamo una grande serie televisiva sull’attuale Regina d’Inghilterra.

Mi sono messa a cercare info, in effetti lo scriverebbe l'autore di The Queen ma per l'attrice c'è ancora un punto interrogativo perché dipenderà dall'epoca. Però se arrivano alla vecchiaia non ho dubbi che chiedano a Helen prima di tutto! Morgan is best known for his work with in that genre, as he had previously penned movies that include Frost/Nixon, The Last King Of Scotland, and The Queen.
That last credit will give him plenty of fodder for the new project, which we’ve heard follows Queen Elizabeth II over the course of various historical events during her reign. According to sources, an initial concept for the show could have different actresses portraying the Queen at different points in her life.
Our sources say the series is being produced by Sony Pictures Television, which has also produced recent shows such as Breaking Bad, Damages, and Justified.
Just as it did for House Of Cards, Netflix could commit to two seasons of the series, although that has yet to be finalized. When the company licensed House of Cards, it reportedly shelled out about $100 million to exclusive secure rights for the first two seasons of that series from production company Media Rights Capital.
From what we’ve heard, The Crown could end up costing more than House Of Cards did when Netflix struck that deal a few years ago. Part of that stems from the fact that Netflix is much bigger now than it was then, with 35 million subscribers in the U.S. and a bigger geographical footprint.

A 10-part drama about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II is to be screened by on-demand TV service Netflix.
The series, titled The Crown, is based on the hit West End play The Audience, in which Dame Helen Mirren portrays the monarch.
The Crown will be created by writer Peter Morgan and director Stephen Daldry - the pair behind The Audience.
British actress Claire Foy has been approached to play the young Elizabeth II, according to Deadline.com.
Foy is best known for TV dramas including White Heat, Little Dorrit, The Promise and the revived Upstairs Downstairs. She will also play Anne Boleyn in the new BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel's novel Wolf Hall.
The Crown is expected to chart the Queen's reign, from the death of her father George VI in 1952 to the present day.
Like the stage play, it will centre on her encounters with the 12 prime ministers who have served during her reign, and the political and social upheavals that have unfolded over that time. It will reach screens in 2016.
Dame Helen will play the monarch in The Audience on Broadway next year, but there is no confirmation of whether she will appear in the Netflix version.
Kristin Scott Thomas will take over the regal role when the play returns to London's West End next April.
Peter Morgan said The Crown would not just be about the royal family, but "about an empire in decline, a world in disarray and the dawn of a new era".
"I am beyond thrilled to be reunited with partners from film, theatre and television for this epic project and delighted to be working for the first time with Netflix," he said.
Netflix vice-president of original content, Cindy Holland, said: "The Crown is storytelling that lives somewhere between television and cinema from Britain's foremost chroniclers of modern politics, class and society."

La Foy ormai si è buttata nell'interpretare le regine famose dell'Inghilterra, io ad essere sincera non nutro una passione per Elisabetta II cioè non è nelle mie grazie (sarà anche x il fatto che sono pro Diana) però lei deve essere una lady di ferro e sono contenta che la scrittura sia data a due geni come quello di TQ e di Billy Elliot che sono due film che ho amato. . -

Io fino alla storia del saluto nazista ho adorato Elisabetta come unica monarca degna di esistere di 'sti tempi, ciò non toglie che la Foy sia troppo bella per il ruolo (considerando che la Kirby fa Margaret io avrei fatto la scelta contraria). Bah. . -
