LONDON — “Da Vinci’s Demons” star Tom Riley, “Ricki and the Flash” thesp Mamie Gummer, Richard Coyle and Frances de la Tour are to lead the cast of Amazon Prime’s fashion-house drama “The Collection” from showrunner Oliver Goldstick, whose credits include “Ugly Betty” and “Desperate Housewives.”

Amazon Prime has the exclusive rights in the U.K. to the eight-part drama series, which is co-commissioned and distributed by BBC Worldwide internationally. Lookout Point, whose credits include “Ripper Street” and “War and Peace,” produces the show.

“The Collection” is the story of an illustrious Paris fashion house, emerging from the dark days of the Nazi Occupation, now ushering in a new golden age of design and business. Centered on two very different brothers, the drama “exposes the grit behind the glamour and the treachery beneath the trappings of this empire, and all who work there.”

Coyle (“Crossbones,” “Life of Crime,” “Going Postal”) plays Paul Sabine, the couturier with a romantic vision that he hopes will resuscitate a beleaguered, post-war Paris. Ambitious, dashing and street-savvy, he is a beguiling figure who’s climbed a long way from his scrappy beginnings.

His formidable mother, the scheming matriarch Yvette Sabine, is played by De la Tour (“The Lady in the Van,” “Vicious,” “Into the Woods,” “Hugo”) — a woman who will stop at nothing to use her sons to help achieve her own thwarted ambitions.

Riley (“Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Kill Your Friends,” “Monroe”) takes on the role of Paul’s brother Claude Sabine, the true but hidden genius behind the Paul Sabine label. He is a rebellious, romantic spirit, forced to hide his homosexuality during the Occupation, who’s traded a public face for personal freedom.

Gummer (“The Good Wife,” “Ricki and the Flash,” “Emily Owens M.D.”) is Helen Sabine, Paul’s American wife, an ex-pat who’s called Paris home for over a decade.

Jenna Thiam (“The Returned”) is “Nina,” the working-class daughter of the Maison’s chief seamstress and the unexpected beauty who becomes the iconic face of the label.

Lizzy Caplan and Tom Riley are engaged, her rep confirms to JustJared.com.

The 34-year-old actress was spotted wearing an engagement ring during a grocery shopping trip in Los Angeles this week alongside Tom.

E! News reports that Tom popped the question back in May.

Lizzy and Tom met in London back in January 2015 and they made their first appearance together earlier this year.

While Lizzy is best known for her work in the movie Mean Girls and on the Showtime series Masters of Sex, Tom is the star of the series DaVinci’s Demons and he will soon be seen on Amazon’s The Collection.
