And a little deceitful too. I mean, I saw the pictures and I thought: these two are in love with each other, but the show started and you see Cesare was the only one who showed incestuous feelings.
We had to wait two seasons to see Lucrezia realize the true nature of her love for Cesare.
Now, I can say that the wait was worth it

I was deceived too! Both that one I posted and the one showing Lucrezia with her back on the grass and Cesare on her gave certain kinds of expectations, lol.
But since it looks like the deal will be sealed this time, I agree we'll know it was worth it. I disapprove the 90% of the choices this show has made so far and is still making but at least I can say I was watching when incest happened XD. -

Same here. That's why I prefer Fontana's version. The Borgias for the incest and the chemistry between François and Holliday, but Borgia for everything.. -

The Borgias is deeply focused on the CL dynamics, it's sort of the emotional pillar of the show. Even when you think they're being political, it's always there - for instance, there's no way Giovanni's assassination was a politcal one. And even here Alfonso may leave for political reasons but that ultimately doesn't have anything to do with Lucrezia realizing she's a pawn even to her husband, it just ends up with the "Only a Borgia can truly love a Borgia" quote.
I realized this is very American though. Every biopic I know is very sentiment-driven.. -

Exactly. Even Cesare killed Juan because of Lucrezia. It's a love story, and I'm very happy with that, but it's not enough. . -
