Altra novità dell’autunno sarà “Snatch”, prodotta da Sony Pictures Television e lanciata negli USA sulla piattaforma Crackle la serie tv basata sul celebre omonimo film del 2000 firmato Guy Ritchie; nel cast Rupert Grint, noto al pubblico mondiale per aver interpretato Ron Weasley nella saga di Harry Potter, Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl) e Luke Pasqualino (Skins).

Trasformare film cult in serie tv è uno dei trend più diffusi degli ultimi anni, ma il fatto che diventino di successo non è sempre così certo. L'ultima arrivata di questo filone è Snatch, il tv show basato sul film di Guy Ritchie del 2000.

Nella serie da 10 episodi, troviamo una nuova gang di truffatori (tra cui Rupert Grint e Luke Pasqualino) e un nuovo gruppo di criminali (Dougray Scott, Ed Westwick). Dal primo trailer, Snatch mostra azione e ironia, con un cast vicino al pubblico più giovane, da Harry Potter a Gossip Girl e Skins.

La serie andrà in onda il 16 marzo su Crackle, un servizio streaming. Ispirato ad alcuni veri crimini accaduti a Londra, Snatch ci mostra un gruppo di truffatori ventenni che per caso si ritrova con un furgone pieno di lingotti d'oro rubati e si ritrovano all'improvviso immischiati con il crimine organizzato. I ragazzi devono imparare velocemente a navigare le acque tumultuose della Londra sotterranea, fatta di poliziotti corrotti, lottatori nomadi e gangster internazionali.

Coming off playing d’Artagnan on BBC’s The Musketeers, Luke Pasqualino is set as the lead of another series reboot, Snatch. Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens) also has been cast in the series for Sony’s streaming network Crackle, which is based on the cult 2000 Sony movie of the same name that starred Jason Statham and Brad Pitt.

Pasqualino will play the central character, Albert Hill, with Rupert Grint recently cast as the co-lead, Charlie Cavendish. The cast of the show also includes Dougray Scott. The Musketeers helmer Nick Renton will direct, reuniting with Pasqualino.

Snatch will carry the spirit of the setting in the film, while creating a new world with new characters. Inspired by a real-life heist in London, Snatch centers on a group of twentysomething, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truckload of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime.
