Renaissance Diamond Ring. This beautiful and substantial Renaissance diamond ring bears much of its original enamel in red, green, and blue. The rectangular box bezel holds a large rose cut stone that literally sparkles. Especially on the shoulders, the virtuoso Renaissance goldsmith work is technically quite skillful. Fu infatti l’arciduca Massimiliano D’Austria a donare alla fidanzata Maria di Borgogna un anello con diamante, simbolo di purezza e di eterno amore. Da allora fino ai giorni nostri, l’anello di fidanzamento si è via via fatto più ricco e prezioso della fede, raggiungendo la supremazia assoluta nel diciannovesimo secolo con l’avvento del solitario.
